take me on a trip, i'd like to go someday

Yesterday was spent on a Capitol tour, which was way cool, and we then went to the Library of Congress, which is just a gorgeous building.

Then the Botanic Gardens, where I got some super awesome photo-geek macro images of cool flowers.

Then lunch at the Native American Museum, which was the best lunch so far in D.C. (enchiladas and fry bread~) and in one of the most beautiful buildings yet... we also went into the Universes Exhibit, where we saw a cool blown-glass crow and a moon which was pretty.

Then the Air&Space museum, for five minutes, since we decided to watch an imax movie on black holes to rest our feet and by the time we came out the museum was closing.

Then we met the Brewsters at Union Station for dinner, and we brought Ema home from there, so she's here now doing the Little's nails while I type.

TODAY. While dad and the Littles went back to Air&Space, Mom, Ema and I went to the National Gallery of Art, which was beautiful. The Robert Frank photography exhibit was unbelieveably good, and I think inspired and affected me in a way i'll be feeling the repercussions of for a while. I bought the book of the exhibition, called The Americans: Looking In. It's a beautiful book.

Then we had lunch in their cafe (pizza, salad and a cannoli... so yummy) and went off to the Spy Museum, which the Little's had been waiting to go to for the whole week. It was quite intriguing actually, if a little cheesily overdone in the beginning.

I took on a spy persona that they told us to memorize (like I said, a bit overdone. they briefed us in the elevator.) and I still remember the whole profile. I was Greta Schmidt, a 33-year-old astronomer from Germany, burn in Bornsteadt, Germany and heading to London, England for four days on business. :3

Oh man, and today was my dad's birthday! He doesn't want ANYTHING. We keep asking and asking, and he's giving us these annoyingly enigmatic answers. such as, "eh." etc. Sarah and I are planning to get him a joint-gift of Quantum of Solace and Get Smart DVD's.

They're trying to convince me to wear nail polish, and I will never budge on the issue. I will NEVER. look good in nail polish. I was not made to be girly.
