I've felt really sick all day (I only really got about three hours of sleep last night) but I just went out to see Underworld 3 with Ema and it was awesome.
I think they portrayed the story really well especially when [SPOILERS] she tells Victor to spare his grandchild... and the look on Lucian's face! He looked so shocked I actually laughed, cause for some reason I guess I assumed he knew. Guess not. Also, when Victor said 'aye' to her execution, her shock was really well done, since it was juxtapositioned against her sternness and ability to lie in the rest of the movie. It really made the moment. [/SPOILERS]
Also, Lucian & that huge black guy with the uber-deep voice = SECRET LOOOVE~
It was a very good movie, although the cinematography in the fight scenes almost gave me a seizure... and i'm sick, so my processing systems were even slower, so I was kinda dizzy by the end. Totally worth it, though.
Also, my DDR abilities have decreased significantly over the years. I fail'd at beginner.
Anyway. JUNJOU MISTAKE. Wow, that's a good side story. I had to watch 4 out of 5 acts on youtube, but it was SO CUTE~! And it's so frustrating because I know act 6 is where they have sex but that's the ONE ACT that nobody (i mean nobody) has scanlated yet. -frustration-
But, alas, i'm really out of energy. The intensity of Underworld kind of wore me out. I'm gonna go up to bed and die now.

singing a song with your feet on the dashboard
Grandpa arrived today. We had chinese food.
I've felt a bit crappy all day, with a sore throat and a bit of a headache.
BUT. This AMAZING a capella group visited our school last period, called Ball In the House. There were three singers, the lead of which was unbelievable, a beat-boxer, and a bass-guitar guy who blew my mind. His voice was so deep!! Even deeper than that big black guy from Underworld.
They did a Temptations song, and it was really good. They also did an original song, called Change Face, that was really good.
I just can't rave enough about them. They were so amazing.
But man, i'm so tired. And the amount of homework I have is truly daunting. And I really hope i'm not getting sick.
...ugh.

jan-jan's cave of wonders
Lots of homework today, but i've finally finished it all.
Our bus was about ten minutes late today, and as we were pulling away Sarah came running down the street thinking it was her bus. I didn't see what happened, but all of a sudden the whole right side of the bus went "OOOOOOOH."
I was like, what? what? And Maura turned to me and said "your sister just wiped out."
I texted her to see if she was okay, and she said "yeah, when I noticed it was the highschool bus I tried to stop but I didn't."
That was about all that happened today.
Except I found out just how much of an asshole Alex N is. But we already knew that. The dent in his head is healed up, but he's had his ipod and phone taken away for doing something that's so embarrassing even he won't mention it. One can only imagine...
How can a guy that fugly and stupid have such an adorable baby brother?! I will never understand genetics.
Also, go subscribe NOW: [link]
[EDIT] My aunt had to put down their basset hound this morning, after a long couple of years of the slow deterioration of his condition. He was a great, loving dog and will be incredibly missed. R.I.P Bullet. [/EDIT]

thats why everything's gotta be love or death
Spent the whole day sitting around and drawing. Got almost all the way through inking Jude's character sheet, which i'll post when im done.
It feels so weird to be going back tomorrow... I spent all of today thinking it was Saturday.
It didn't really snow all that much either... it snowed pretty heavily until about noon then turned to this awful icy pissy rain, which is still going on, I think...
and it's all supposed to freeze tonight. Looooovely~
Two more days and the weekend, so it's not all bad....
....i'm tired....

i'm gonna turn up the volume 'till i cant even think
My schedule for second semester isn't so bad...
Except now instead of having gym I have Health. I'd really actually prefer running around on the volleyball court to that.
Also, I'm in advanced drawing and painting now, and our class is literally seven people (Katie C! yays), not including all the people who come hang around during their privs. We're doing big self-portraits.
So now I have two studies in a row on those days, instead of having art in-between them. Which is good and bad.
And spanish class is so lonely without my Abba. 3':
Something tells me this semester is going to be somewhat unpleasant, even though I don't like to think that way. But it also might just be that my day was kind of shitty.
We had a lockdown today, in Mr D's english class. It was boring. and nobody believed me when I told them about how they did a study that showed a gunman wouldn't try to open a locked door with his gun, he would just move on. Video games have soiled their perception of the human mind.
We've started Bread Givers. It took me a minute to figure out that her english was bad on purpose.
...poo burgers.
[EDIT] Snow day tomorrow!!! Oh my GOD, my mood is like x1000 right now!! I get to sit around and draw all day!!! -has a party- [/EDIT]

Eating a donut, la dee dee. Tis Sunday and i'll i've to do is go to the gym, do dee da.
Maybe i'll have Abba over for our Black Books Marathon of Hilarity. That may be a good way to end my Anti-Midterm weekend.

Must go get dressed for the gym now... i'm only going for the showers, which are lovely and whose hot water we don't have to pay for.

move to the evening, dance like you're the only one
I spent all of today in Boston, taking pictures and tooling around with some really cool people.
I'll probably post pics in my next entry, if I can get them all off my camera without Hal dying.
Trying to navigate six people through the subway system with no previous knowledge of the system between them is an experience I wouldn't like to have again.
We cheated the railway out of the charges of like three tickets just by scanning the Charlie card and having two people run through the gates.
UHM, ESCUSE ME, YOU HAVE TO PAY.

Didn't end up hanging with Mori or Ema, since unforseen plans got in the way...
But we did go to IKEA, and I got a loverly pillow-cushion-comforter thing. It's warm and I love it.
That party in Boston is tomorrow... i'm probably going. I can't decide whether I'm excited about going or not. I do love Boston...

as the toxins in your body are the bass & the drums
EXAMS ARE THROUGH!!!!
Chemistry was alright, but it was a 100-question test in an hour and a half... with a half-hour left I was only halfway done. I had to make up answers for many of the last twenty questions.
I'm so excited about sleeping in tomorrow...
I think i've hit a creative streak of some kind. I just keep looking at this random stuff and saying "ooh, I like those pants, I think i'll draw something like that," or "that's a cool pose, I could use that for something."
I think it's a perceptivity I only get once in a while. But its a nice perceptivity; I love having it.
I've got some awesome new characters in the works. I can't wait to draw them some more.
I might get to see Ema and Mori tomorrow!!! I can't wait, I haven't seen Mori since the trip to the mall with the Showa girls Yuka and Hatsumi. She's such a sweetie, I'm way excited.

God, that inougural address was beautiful.
I survived!!! History actually wasn't that bad (save for a few multiple choice questions, but eh) and it was actually algebra that gave me the most trouble. I don't think I did very well....
We have a new president!! It's so hard to believe. I feel like the air is buzzing everywhere, like the whole world is connected together just briefly while watching Obama be sworn in.
anyways. Sarah's home sick... I wish she wasn't, but oh well.
Watching Bush fly away in his helicopter is SUCH a gratifying feeling....

like some kind of daydream i'll never forget
I am so exhausted from studying.... Cramming that much history into my head in one or two sittings is NOT. healthy.
I can feel pieces of my brain falling away like wet cake.
But I watched some Black Books... especially loved the ones with the cat landlord and when Manny runs away to Goliath Books next door.
But. Evelyn B's dad is on his honeymoon so she's staying at Ema's house for the weekend, and she accompanied us to dance tonight! She's such an amazing dancer, I just know she'll get into that super advanced dance camp she's trying out for.
Also, mom found this awesome four-week art camp at Art Institute of Boston, but its a looot of money, so I probs wont be going this summer. BUT Ema said it would be so FABULOUSLY FUCKING AWESOME if I came to Japan camp this year!!!!
I think it would be a super-mega-lovely idea, but dad shot me down at dinner, claiming that spending three weeks away from my would-be summer job was, and I quote, "a lark." Endquote.
Screw it. I think it would be an awesome time.
Mmmmm, ice-cream~~
Tomorrow is JUDGEMENT DAY. I'm so rediculously nervous. I think i'm set for Algebra, seeing as I have a cheat-sheet index card to work from, but fucking history. Oh lord. I'll be luck if I make it out ALIVE.
I feel like I dont know aaaanyyythiiiing. My stomach is doing all those annoying little flippy-turn things saying "waaaaah nervousnervous freakouuuut." I'll have to keep myself from having a nervous breakdown in the middle of the exam, or it'll upset Ema.
And after that, only more grief to come!! CHEMISTRY, AAAH *deathstabdeath*
BUT. I need to take it one day at a time. One day. Whoo. *deep breaths*

pull me out from inside--i am ready
A pretty miserable day, really.
I'm completely out of steam at this point. I feel like a flat tire.
But guess who came to speak in my art class today? A representative from Art Insititute of Boston!! Which is the school i'd like to go to (after going to National Portfolio Day), despite the fact that mom wants me at MFA.
She talked about a lot of the majors, and what we would do in each... apparently we spend 70% of our time in our major, in 3-hour workshop classes for things like graphic design and photography.
I want to do the summer program where you stay in the dorms for a week and take the classes. It looks like such an awesome school.
And lyrical cheered me up a bit, too. We're dancing to "Colorblind" by Natalie Walker--its amazingly gorgeous.
It was the coldest day of the year today... eveything's creaking like its covered in ice. I can't wait to stay in bed tomorrow morning.
We might go to IKEA for dinner, but I doubt it.
We'll probably go to the mall.
[EDIT] Got 'The Who' chuck taylor high-tops and a piano belt! They look so sexy~~ [/EDIT]
All I want to think about is art right now, and I can't. I just have to get through studying, then i'm home free. I have the day off on Friday!! No exams!! *cheers*

jawohl, herr kommandant
I was kinda really depressed today.
I mentioned it in the "good thing bad thing" game in comm sem, and poor Ms. Parino was all worried... she kept me after to ask if I was alright. XD She's so sweet.
But then I finished my stupid math packet (for the most part) and went to the gym and I feel a lot better...
The new episode of Junjou Romantica season 2 was pretty good. And we're having orange chicken for dinner!! It smells so good.
Also, Ryu-chan posted the first pages of her LuxXal doujin~~~ [link-a-doodle-do]
I love her stuff!! Its yummy yummy with knobs.
So~ Good day, I suppose. Besides the fact that I broke my shoe. I'll fix it with crazy glue or something.
It's going to be frigidly cold tomorrow. I hope it snows like crazy. 16 below zero!! -shivers-
I want to stay in bed.
My mom and Pam decided on wednesday that Ari and I need to hang out more, because we laugh so much together. So we've been told we're going to see a movie together this weekend. Apparently. Okay.
I wonder what we'll see...
OMG! I think I have a dread-lock fetish.
a) Xaldin. Okay, yesssssss. (maybe minus the sideburns.)
b) Byran, a junior at school with cute little short ones. My mouth waters when I see him.
c) Jason Castro. He can sing, he's gorgey, I want my HANDS in his HAIR.
d) The trainer at the gym. He's got little beads in them!! They're beauteous.
The first step is admitting you have a problem.
-goes to listen to Jason Castro-

this childlike wild life is flooring me
I watched the Oprah Winfrey Documentary with Elie Wiesel about his book Night in English today. I was totally sobered after that--I think I failed a chem quiz for my simple feeling of not caring.
My two hours of art cheered me up a bit, but then I had to subject myself to a full hour of reading the actual book, Night, for a reading quiz tomorrow. I'm still not done and its totally horrifying but I cant seem to put it down.
There are no words for how staggering the lack of words is to describe this book. Language is not capable of it.
I'm struck by a total lack of life right now. Why the hell should my midterm studies matter when this shit is going on in the world right now?? Why should anything matter? Our daily struggles seem so petty.
I can't find the answer. I feel quite listless.

well it all amounts to nothing in the end
I'm caught very hard between being stressed out about midterms and being totally chill about them.
I'm totally scared of chemistry and algebra, but the rest I guess are okay... except history. That's just a pain in the ass.
I can't decide whether to get all worked up or not. Well, my mind can't decide. I'd much rather be calm and stuff.
Jason Mraz is fucking amazing.

it's not behind the rhino
I think i'll get a webcam with the money I saved from not buying an iPod dock. I'd like very much to talk to Colin on Skype.
Had a few interesting conversations today.
I was talking about a friend who is out of high school with my mum, and I said she describes herself as 'pan-sexual.' And she's like "Pansexual??! What is THAT?" (not exaggerating.)
And I was like, "well, she doesn't discriminate with people like trans-genders, that sort of thing." I mean, I didn't know how to describe it really... how do you describe pan-sexuality to a person whose never heard of it?
(I've always thought it was partly like a message about a erson, like 'i'm not afraid to be with people who may have been a different person before I met them.' Or something to that effect. but anyway.)
And she said "-sigh- Why can't they just be heterosexual?"
That confused me. I was like "What, d'you mean there's something wrong with everyone else?"
The rest of her argument was lost to me; I was too caught up in that other thing. I mean... I just don't get it! What's so hard to understand about it all? I began to think my mother's world is alot smaller than i've thought before.
Also, I was talking to Ema-chan, who told me about a kid i've known for a while who just told her that he's bi.
I wasn't surprised by this, but I found myself wondering why it was so important for him to only tell the people who he knew would keep it a secret. I mean, he's a really nice kid, so who did he think would persecute him?
Then I really heard what my mom said. And I thought, maybe it's MY world that's small. Is humanity still so abrasive and adamantly against these kinds of differences that people don't feel comfortable coming out?
And then, again with Ema-chan, we talked about a person she was talking to who said she didn't think teenagers in high school had sexualities (as in, they don't know what they were, hormones and everything.)
And I thought, this isn't always true. My mum is constantly saying this as well, that the hormones make you think you're attracted to both sexes. But what about people who really know? Like that kid. I'm sure he does really know, but who's going to take him seriously? If not Ema or me, then who?? Just because he's in high school, he can't know who he is? Not everyone discovers themselves in or after college.
Again, am I just totally unplugged? Do I know that little about the world? I really want to think that people are more open than that, but maybe it's still just a wish.
I thought we were past this. Apparently not.
This makes me feel sad. And very small.

nothing compares to a quiet evening alone
Had a wierd dream last night just before I woke up.
Some kind of psychic/soothsayer was telling me stuff, but the only thing I remember is hearing that the coming day was going to be boring and confusing, and I was gripped violently by the knowledge that he was right.
I woke up right then, and I knew somehow that he was right, as well.
A very strange sensation.

I just saved about $200.
I was gonna go out and buy a sound dock for Jude, my iPod. The one I was looking at was only $69, but it didn't have a radio in it or anyhting, and my mom hates it when I "settle."
So my dad found a cord to plug Jude into the radio he has in his office, which he allegedly hasn't turned on in three years. He felt guilty letting it go unused, so he gave it to me.
And it is so beautiful~~! <3 The stereo sound is amazing, like expensive-sounding stereo quality. Only for free. And it tell you the song names on the radio!! Absolutely cosmic beyond imagination. My sister's pissed, cause she hates it when I blast my music. I say tough luck.
In other news, today was lower-body day at the gym, so my thighs hurt a bit. I've started using the 21-and-above locker room (hah) which is way nicer and not full of screaming kids.
I love the showers in there. They practically draw blood, they're so intense. And the soap smells like banana-bread batter.
We're going to the Whites later tonight, getting liquored up (well, my rents anyway) and then driving home in a snowstorm.
Also, orgy in a video(s):

i want a full house and a rock and roll band
The week is over.
My sister has a dance tonight, and her friends are over to get ready... probably terrorizing my belongings in our shared room right now.
It is supposed to snow late tomrrow... I hope Ema-tan doesn't get stuck in Westbubble on her... adventure.
I also found out my lyrical teacher is expecting a baby boy. She's in interesting woman... I'm curious about what kind of person her [boyfriend] is.
It's Friday, and my abs still hurt.

and thus the russian paratroopers met their deaths
Today, I felt gloomy. Its snowing a little now.
Yesterday we had a two-hour delay for the beginning of school due to ice storms. I was incredibly dissappointed because I woke up late thinking we had the day off. Not so much.
But I also went to the gym yesterday, and my chest and abs hurt a little...
Also, i'm reading Hetalia Axis now, and lastnight I was laughing the entire time I was reading. Italy is an incredible tool, and I love the little mini-story about him and the Holy Roman Empire, and how HRE thought he was a girl.
I couldn't get over England and his bad cooking. America is such an accurate character, it almost makes me sad. But I also find it funny that the Japanese think that America is symbolized by terrible taste and bomber jackets.
My history grades are sure to go up because of this.

all my loving, i will send to you
So I guess school wasn't bad today. I was surprised at how much I missed te social aspect. My friends are really my rock and they keep me alive, and that's never more evident than when I've been away from them for more than a week.
I had all my classes today, but I got to relax last period in gym class, since my teacher just sits and talks to the other coaches all class. Tax money hard at work, I tell ya.
But I'm re-energized, because I started working on my sharks! sequel late last night, and I felt like I was really on a roll. If I can pick up the pace I had going then, I ight be able to get at least halfway through it tonight. Waaaay exciting.
We also started choreography on our jazz dance today. It's just me, Ema, Katie and Kathy dancing in the beginning, and we're doing this cool floorwork... just from the first three eights, I can tell this dance is gonna be pretty sexy.
And my ShojoBeat magazine finally came!! Its the music issue, too. orgy~~~~~~
And guess what I found out came out??! Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans!!! My friend told me that it was being filmed, but I was totally blindsided when I saw the television trailer during dinner. I want to see it in theatres because it's always more intense in theatres :3
Good day, I think.

my bonnie lies over the ocean
I felt so utterly "feh" today. I didn't leave my room the entire day except for food, and I knew I had stuff I wanted to do, like scan in some Rush Complex stuff for the blog [PIMPPIMPPIMP] or clean my room or study my driver's manual (though I dont know if I could've faced that one yet) and other stuff... instead I read my new novel, Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris, which is very good, and ate Swedish Fish and cruised facebook. I was the most useless piece of blob today and I kind of hate myself for it.
I really need to continue my Sharks! sequel, since I hit like seven watchers for it today with Ema-chan and another person, but I honestly have NO drive.
But hell, school starts back up tomorrow, and just the thought of that gives me chills. And finals are on the 20th, and that will be a hell previously unimagined, with all honors classes...
I feel the strength to deal with it all, it's inside me, but it's definitely dormant right now. I'm going to the gym tomorrow, and I think the excercise will be the stress relief I've needed...
Still, the fact that the holidays are over is incredibly depressing. And drive-killing.
I can see a tunnel at the end of all this light. But there's a small light at the end of that tunnel, too, I guess...
I also could tell that if i'd picked up a pencil today I would've gotten alot done... I had some nice images in my head that I would've liked to have gotten down, but as it usually is with these things, I got in my own way.
Again, a little self-loathing in there.
Maybe routine will be good for me. As much as monotony is my worst enemy, it often helps me focus my mind on other things.
...I'm out of blog power. I feel tomorrow coming towards me with all his power. Gotta go brace for impact.
Talk to you when i've got some life back.

i've just seen a face...
Happy January.
We're in Boston right now, in our hotel room… I love being able to walk through two malls and back to the hotel without ever having to go outside.
Unfortunately, we have to pay for WiFi in the room, so I'm writing this on the 1st, but will probably have to post it when I get home on Saturday.
Last night I watched Across the Universe at the New Year's party, and it really made an impression on me. I maintain that I would have been awesome in the 70's (maybe not the drugs or draft, but you know).
I also got the album (the 32 songs put my iTunes library over 700 songs) and I've had a few songs on repeat, including Girl, I Want To Hold Your Hand, I've Just Seen A Face, Dear Prudence, Strawberry Fields Forever, and Blackbird.
I love Prudence's voice, who is played by (I think) T.V Carpio, as well as Sadie's (Dana Fuchs). The girl who played Lucy had a very good voice as well, for an actress. Jude was probably my favorite charater though, and I liked Max too.
I wasn't expecting the story, I think. All I'd heard of it was that it was a musical based on the Beatles. But the complexity of the story and the coming together of all the characters made me think of the style of the Tale of Despereaux, in the way all of them developed on their own before their timelines come together.
It was an incredibly outstanding, emotive movie that truly amazed me. I wonder if it's on OnDemand tonight… I wanna see it again.
P.S. Anybody know the name of Sadie's boyfriend? I cant remember.
--EDIT: 1/3/09-- P.P.S [LOVELESS VOL 8 SPOILERS]
I KNEW Ritsu-sensei was the one who took Soubi's ears! Ugh, but reading it and watching zero-sensei freak out about it made it sooo worth it X3 And she's so in love with him, haha!
I find it quite ironic that he's blind now... Just the way he shut Soubi off from the world and Soubi was unable to see anything besides Seimei and his servitude... I dunno, it sounds ironic in my head.
And I also thought that the encounter between Ritsuka and Seimei would be a bit more epic, but he's quite the confused little kid, and Seimei's monologue was very disturbing... so I guess I don't mind.
