i've just seen a face...

Happy January.

We're in Boston right now, in our hotel room… I love being able to walk through two malls and back to the hotel without ever having to go outside.

Unfortunately, we have to pay for WiFi in the room, so I'm writing this on the 1st, but will probably have to post it when I get home on Saturday.

Last night I watched Across the Universe at the New Year's party, and it really made an impression on me. I maintain that I would have been awesome in the 70's (maybe not the drugs or draft, but you know).

I also got the album (the 32 songs put my iTunes library over 700 songs) and I've had a few songs on repeat, including Girl, I Want To Hold Your Hand, I've Just Seen A Face, Dear Prudence, Strawberry Fields Forever, and Blackbird.

I love Prudence's voice, who is played by (I think) T.V Carpio, as well as Sadie's (Dana Fuchs). The girl who played Lucy had a very good voice as well, for an actress. Jude was probably my favorite charater though, and I liked Max too.

I wasn't expecting the story, I think. All I'd heard of it was that it was a musical based on the Beatles. But the complexity of the story and the coming together of all the characters made me think of the style of the Tale of Despereaux, in the way all of them developed on their own before their timelines come together.

It was an incredibly outstanding, emotive movie that truly amazed me. I wonder if it's on OnDemand tonight… I wanna see it again.

P.S. Anybody know the name of Sadie's boyfriend? I cant remember.

--EDIT: 1/3/09-- P.P.S [LOVELESS VOL 8 SPOILERS]
I KNEW Ritsu-sensei was the one who took Soubi's ears! Ugh, but reading it and watching zero-sensei freak out about it made it sooo worth it X3 And she's so in love with him, haha!

I find it quite ironic that he's blind now... Just the way he shut Soubi off from the world and Soubi was unable to see anything besides Seimei and his servitude... I dunno, it sounds ironic in my head.

And I also thought that the encounter between Ritsuka and Seimei would be a bit more epic, but he's quite the confused little kid, and Seimei's monologue was very disturbing... so I guess I don't mind.
